1. Cornbelly’s Corn Maze

One fun, family-friendly activity that you may look into doing with your child this October is Cornbelly’s Corn Maze & Pumpkin Festival in Lehi. Cornbelly’s isn’t just a traditional pumpkin farm and corn maze. There are plenty of outdoor activities to keep you and your children busy including a corn maze, inflatable jumpers, gemstone mining, food trucks, cow train, giant slide and face painting. Prices start at $11.95 on weekdays and $14.95 on weekends. The attraction is open daily, except for Sundays.

2. Gardner Village Witch Displays

In West Jordan, be sure to take the time to visit Gardner Village. During the month of October, they feature witch displays. The witches may be on business doors, on street signs or wrapped around light poles. The entire area is decorated in a variety of small and large witch displays. You can participate in a witch scavenger hunt or take part in breakfast with a witch or a 5K witch run, depending on what day you visit. On the weekends, there is also typically witch activities for children to participate in, including crafts and coloring.

3. Halloween Cruise in Provo

If you are looking for something unique to do with your children, consider the Halloween Cruise in Provo. During the cruise, a boat carrying around 40 people sails down water that is illuminated by Halloween lights and jack-o-lantern reflections. All the while, the captain of the ship tells a few ghostly tales. The cruise departs every 30 minutes nightly from 6:30 to 9 pm. And tickets are only $8 per person, making this fun activity affordable as well.

4. Heber Valley Railroad – The Pumpkin Train

Another family-friendly activity to do with your child or children is The Pumpkin Train at Herber Valley Railroad. This train ride is 40 minutes long. During the ride, children are entertained by costume characters singing, dancing or telling stories. Your child will also receive pumpkin cookies to eat and every paying customer will get to pick out their own pumpkin to take home. Rides are available from October 5 through October 30 and are $15 per person. Be sure to book early, as this event does sell out.

5. Pumpkin Walk

On Saturday, October 28, the Central Utah Gardens is hosting a free event called the Pumpkin Walk. The event takes place from 12 pm to 6 pm. During this event, you will be able to walk through the gardens, watch a magician, see carved pumpkins, and participate in free children’s activities.

6. Thanksgiving Point- Dia De Los Muertos

On Saturday, October 28, Thanksgiving point is hosting a celebration for Dia De Los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead. During this festival, you and your children can take in beautiful art, festive music, traditional Latin American dancing and food and can leave a note or memento on the community altar for those who have passed away. Admission is $8 in advance or $10 at the door for those 13 or older. Kids 12 and under are free.
